The swift and slender ROADRUNNER is a picturesque element in the Southwest dry and cactus country. This terrestrial
cuckoo, Geococcyz Californianius, is also called chaparral bird. I have called my painting the "Roadrunner, Breeding
Colors". During the mating season, you can see a narrow, bare skin of red, white and blue near the eyes. This
is the first in a series of Bird prints.
